Home >> Professional Peel
Professional peels use active ingredients — acids, enzymes, marine-derived actives, or regulatory compounds — to accelerate cell turnover, resurface the skin, or calm pigment-producing activity, depending on the formulation. Peels are chosen based on your specific skin concern, sensitivity, and downtime tolerance, and are often used in rotation as part of a broader skin plan.
• Glow Peel — A gentle, general-purpose polish designed to refresh dull skin and provide a light, all-around exfoliation with minimal irritation.
• Acne Peel (Clear Peel) — The acne and congestion specialist. Formulated to help clear follicular buildup, manage oil, and address congestion that drives breakouts, without the aggressive stripping that can trigger rebound oil production.
• Mild Peel (Blue Peel) — A gentle combination AHA peel (glycolic and lactic acid) designed for mild exfoliation, skin prep, and clients new to professional peeling. It also serves as a prep step before more targeted treatments.
• Radiance Peel (Mela Cold Pro) — A melanocyte-regulating brightening treatment rather than a traditional exfoliating peel. It works upstream at the enzymatic level to help calm pigment production, making it a gentler option for pigmentation-prone or reactive skin, including deeper skin tones.
• Bold Peel (Zena & Green Sea) — A marine-derived mechanical resurfacing treatment using natural spicule technology. It provides a meaningful resurfacing effect with a gentler recovery profile than
aggressive chemical peels, and is often a good entry point for clients with reactive skin.
• Retinol Peel — A deeper, cellular-level peel using vitamin A derivatives to accelerate skin renewal. Results unfold over a longer, delayed timeline compared to acid peels, and this peel is often applied for evening wear with removal the next morning.
• Acid-based peels (Glow, Clear, Blue): Work at the surface, chemically loosening the bonds between dead skin cells for immediate, visible exfoliation.
• Mela Cold Pro: Targets the enzyme responsible for melanin production before pigment forms, rather than exfoliating existing pigment from the surface.
• Zena & Green Sea (spicule/marine peels): Use fine, natural marine-derived spicules to create micro-channels in the skin, triggering renewal while keeping the skin barrier largely intact.
• Retinol Peel: Penetrates into deeper skin layers to influence cell behaviour directly, producing a slower, more sustained renewal effect than surface-acting acids.
• Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 1–2 weeks before treatment; wear SPF 30+ daily.
• Discontinue retinoids and other active ingredients 3–5 days prior, or longer if advised for deeper peels.
• Avoid waxing and other hair removal in the treatment area for 1 week before your appointment.
• Disclose pregnancy, isotretinoin use (current or within the past 6–12 months), and any active skin infections — these may require peel selection changes or postponement.
• Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup and active skincare products.
• Some peels (like Glow, Clear, and Blue) may produce mild stinging or warmth during treatment and light flaking within a few days; others (like the Retinol Peel) follow a delayed peeling pattern that begins a couple of days later.
• Avoid picking or scrubbing any flaking skin — let it shed naturally to prevent irritation or uneven marks.
• Skip additional exfoliants, retinoids, and aggressive actives for at least 5–7 days post-treatment.
• Use a gentle cleanser and barrier-supportive, fragrance-free moisturizer during recovery.
• Apply SPF 30+ daily without fail — treated skin is significantly more photosensitive.
• Avoid saunas, hot yoga, swimming, and intense exercise for 48–72 hours.
• Sensation varies by peel type: acid peels may feel warm or tingly, spicule peels feel like a building prickle, and Mela Cold Pro is generally very well tolerated with minimal sensation.
• Visible flaking (where applicable) typically resolves within 2–7 days, revealing brighter, smootherlooking skin underneath.
• Results are cumulative — a series of treatments spaced 2–6 weeks apart (depending on peel type) is usually recommended for the best visible outcome.
• Your provider will help you choose the right peel, or rotation of peels, based on your skin’s specific needs and tolerance.
